The American Chess Foundation was an educational organization to encourage chess as a national sport and pastime; and to develop its possibilities for the intellectual and scientific training on which American security and prosperity depend. Today, the American Chess Foundation is named Chess in the Schools.
Sidney Wallach served on the board of the American Chess Foundation alongside Marcel Duchamp, John Cage and Allen Kaufman.
